You were referring to the Brahms German Requiem. And then when you listed Helen Watts, I started thinking,"Wait a minute - there's no solo alto part in theBermanGerman Requiem!". Fortunately, I finally got it figured out because I used to have the LP incarnation of this recording myself. Here's the album cover of the LP set I had:Does your open reel incarnation also have "Nanie" on it? To me, it's one of Brahms's absolute best compositions (a lament that beauty must die too), and the Ansermet recording was my imprint recording of it.
