Thanks for your comments on the Klemperer/Philharmonia/EMI recording; had not heard it before but now it joins my other 8 interpretations and is at the top of the pile.
Klemperer brings out lines more clearly than the others, perhaps as a result of his seating of the orchestra, with the basses on the left rather than the more usual right. Will have to look into this...
Have you been able to compare the original recording with the remastered version now being sold, and do you have a preference?
