Well, the smaller (63/98/2805) Quad model now is $10K, right? So... I guess you're right, the Popori are quite expensive, comparatively.
I am sure, like all boutique audio companies, they need to recoup R&D & tooling costs.
They are a very nice speaker, in all ways.
I'll tell you what turned me off them, though: Max SPL (for all but the biggest model, I think) of 100 dB. No improvement over the Quad in the one area I would be interested in.
Another thing: Point-vs-line-source. The rep for the Bach DSP waxed on about how wonderful line sources are, these being that. I find the point-source presentation of the Quad preferable.
(And from what I read from pro acoustics, that's the consensus. Thus do pro source companies strive to simulate point sources.)
