I am not picking sides in this particular exchange, but . . .

Buying brick and mortar does not necessarily equate to paying full price or paying more than to an internet-based dealer. In fact, the subject of the OP's rant, Spearit Sound, pretty much discounts all gear by 10% to 20%, even if you don't ask. Also, if you ask, they generally, though not always, will do a bit better than their first offer. So, there are a number of things you can get for less at Spearit than, say, "at" Acoustic Sounds or Music Direct or Elusive Disc, e.g.

Of course that's not true at all Boston-based dealers, let alone all dealers nationwide.
