I've said it below, but I HIGHLY recommend the accuphase 75v if you can afford it (yes, expensive). It is remarkable in my opinion what it does to lowly old redbook recordings, and it is the first player I've had that I feel comes close to competing with sacd. If you are able to look in this price range, I'd put it up against any of the competition -- even the Linn player (which I have heard and I agree that it is extrordinarily good).
