RE: Ethernet cable between modem and router

Love how people say you can't hear differences when you do...-

Its all about noise getting to the dac. Some cables will reduce that and some won't.

Wifi shouldn't be affected (though it is a noise source itself) but if a device is plugged in the same electrical circuit and a cable helps reduce noise it might make it to wireless device. There is a idea that all the wiring in the house act as an antenna for noise. In the Tweaks forum look up Rochelle salt tweak. Give it a try.

I just added a run of fiber between my ethernet audio devices and it made a noticeable difference. Pretty sure no data was affected but it was cleaner...- pretty easy these days to use media converters and while not perfect you can use fiber to isolate. Sonore has some vids about how to do it.
