If that does not help, your laser assembly might need replacing. Contact Rega for parts replacement info and/or check on ebay.BTW, there are no rails to grease in the Rega Planet player because it is a top loading design. It is not a mechanized "transport". It does not depend on a moving platform or a slot mechanism the way most other CD players do...
