Upsamplers, DACs, jitter, shakes and analogue withdrawals, this is it.

J3 options

The options have been kept pretty low. Aluminum case, so no upgrade. No USB (don't use it and probably never will.) No upgrade on XLR, just stock op amps. All that keeps the base price of $529.98.

The only option added was the Sparkos 2590 op amps at $126. Everyone says the 2590s take the sound up to another level, which made them seem obvious, given the relatively low price increase.

That made the total $655.98 (even though, presumably, all Inmates can do the math).

But you're right. With a lot of gear, once options start getting piled on, what seems like a bargain, isn't.

With all the positive press given to the J3, the $655.98 still seems like a good deal. My ears will determine the truth of that, of course. Production lead time is 2 weeks, meaning by the first week or so of November an evaluation should take place.

I'm really happy to support a small U.S. audio company. Fingers are crossed that the sound will be as good as reported by so many.
