I've seen the word "kit" used to describe an audio component and I'm wondering why this word is used instead of simply saying, "an audio component." I use the word "kit" when I'm describing a component that I had to assemble from a kit. For example, the post below is how I describe an audio component that I purchased as a kit to build. Why do others use the word "kit" to describe fully assembled audio components?
