FYI - Here is a link to a (2012) list of DAC chips rated by Antonio Scozzaro. He rates both the PCM1704 and PCM1794 quite highly, and the PCM63 as being, "one of the best of the world's Audio".
I had a Lector CDP using the PCM63 and it sounded wonderful. I "upgraded" to the same player using the PCM1704 and it sounded good too but just a little less magical. I currently have a DAC with dual PCM1794A chips (Merason DAC1 MkII), and two dacs from Mojo Audio using dual AD1862 chips, that Scozzaro describes the same as he does the PCM63 - "one of the best of the world's Audio". Those DACs sound very natural.
