I recall only one CD transport that actually "upsamples"..... But I don't remember the product......
Most CD transports don't upsample, it's a function of the DAC.... If the transport does upsample, it basically performs the digital filtering function instead of the DAC.... (It would be most useful with non-oversampling DACs.) If a CD transport does upsample, one would have to determine whether he/she prefers thee transport's filtering or the DAC's.
