An outboard dac just might give you what you need for now and also set you up for computer serving in the future if you go that route.In your price range there are many choices.Research upsampling vs non oversampling (NOS)and you will find many opinions and examples of dac's to consider.I have an earlier Music Hall cd25 and when I added an inexpensive NOS dac it made a big difference in taming the the digital nasties and if and when I go the computer route I will already have a decent dac.Hope this helps and good luck.
