the spruce board and the no-casing way of building is an important part of the construction. If you leave them out, it is not the same Altmann DAC anymore. I think it is not possible to order the DAC without the soldered connectors, but you can ask Charles Altmann, he is a really freindly guy used to answer quite quickly.
