DIP's et al make any diff?

Im sure this has been brought up often and here goes again. I was considering picking up a Monarchy 24/96 or 48/96 ( good prices for used) to install betwixt my P-10 (Esoteric) & my Lavry D-10 for improved "jitter" control. Long story short is I called Lavry and spoke to a tech "jerry" and he said its all nonsense. plain and simple. Sure, there could be a change in sound but whether that sound is pleasing or desired is very subjective. Basically said there is no technical reason why anything should work any better.. Tech or not,,, it seemed a little biased from a old school tech standpoint. I would like some input here especially from anyone with tech creds..(& others of course) Thanks,, Skip
