I second the motion.....Exact Audio Copy (EAC).The 6Moons link is to a review which contains some very useful info like: Links to the software and associated files, some directions on how to set it up, and tips on how to use it, etc...
Well worth the effort to set it up and use it in my opinion! I've "remastered" most of my CD collection. I do use some of the tweaks to my computer that are mentioned in the soundstage link....ZSleeves, vibration control, parallel line filters, Highwire Powerwraps, DIY RGPC, good power cord, good CD-Rs, etc....
I agree with both sites...CDs can be improved via rip/burn w/EAC....sometimes a dramatic improvement can be heard. I'm talking about copying brand new CDs (not old scratched CDs though it works great on them too) and burning them and getting some improvements! Though your mileage may vary....
EAC has won awards from both of the sites listed below.
