I think a NOS dac may be just what your looking for, they are the least digital sounding dacs Ive heard, and they are inexpensive and sound great. They are also very simple to build if your into DIY, there are tons of kits. Heres a few linksAudioNote DAC 1.1(they make completely built or diy dacs)
