I have a couple of the recievers/dvd players from TEACs reference line - a set of the 500 and a set of the Legacy 800 line. They look and sound good for office/bedroom applications. They also appear to have a strong following in the UK and still make their MKII Reference 300 line available for purchase there. The Legacy 700 and 800 series use TRIPATH digital amps, something Teac never advertised (only evidence comes from Tripath press releases and audiophile modders online).
The Esoteric line is very high end, and highly regarded from what I understand.
What gives with this company? Why not bring the reference line back to the USA? What happened to the Legacy line, especially given the T-amp hype? I don't get it. For a smaller system, the choices generally suck.
