Consumers who invest in high-end audio perhaps spending £5-10k ($10-15K) might be left with problems selling on their CD player should they wish to change the system after a few years. I wonder what percentage of consumers share your view on this?
I have owned 16 year older High-end Sony CD players that read TOC faster and play discs than more modern players have problems with. I have had CDM12.1 optical pick-ups fail after only a few months.
I personally dislike the cheap, plastic CDM12.1 optical pick-ups which seem to find their way in to CD player costing up to and above £2K. This said; you can still buy the lasers for around £20.00 which at least gives you a degree of longevity :0/
