I also own a Stello DA220 and the CDT200 and have just changed my digital cables from a QED Silver Reference (SPDIF) to a Shunyata Aries-S digital (AES). The QED has received great reviews because of its speed and soundstaging, which I agree. However, it is not as quiet as my AES equipped Shunyata. Both cables have similar total charateristics but the Shunyata has a slight edge in dynamics, perhaps due to the quieter background, and better bass. Not all AES equiped digital cables sound the same. I had one from a compnay call Mountain something...... and it sounded too smooth and lack details. I have also compared the Audience Maestro digital in the SPDIF with the QED and the QED is a much, much better cable. A word of warning - always try the cables equipped with SPDIF in either direction. You may find that there is a diffrence in soundstaging and details between the two. I never believed this can happen until I tried this with the QED.
