Re: Problems w/ Arcam CD192 - need advice

Strange, I had/have experienced both your problems with Arcam CD-192 since I bought it about 20 months ago from The Netherlands. Regarding the player not reading discs, Arcam first sent me a new Sony transport which could not solve the problem. Recently they informed that certain serial numbers (mine included) needed replacement of the display board and software upgrade, promptly sent it to me free of cost through their local distributor and I am happy that this problem has now been resolved. It now reads every disc you throw in. The problem of 'pausing for a split second while playing' still occurs in my player but not on a regular basis. I suspect it has to do with the recording on the particular disc and the upsampling system of Arcam. Just a guess, that is, as this problem occurs more with normal discs and never with audiophile quality recordings. From my experience, I would suggest to contact Arcam and replace your display board, if necessary.
FYI, serial numbers of CD-192 affected and needing replacement of display board and transport's flexicable are C192P03089 and below. Please check yours.
Trust this helps.
