was it surprised me. I was trying to get him to buy a new unit, but with his set up, it's not irritating and has pretty wide staging and is definitely extended. Clean as he said (I agree). It's just surprising, since normal wisdom in this forum is what you posted, to ditch old digital and buy a DVD player.He has a cheap Cyberhome DV-300, which I use as a simple cheap digital source also and which sounds better than my Sony CDP-C525 in some ways, but we did not do a head on head last week. I did that a few months ago, and the Denon beat it (but the Cyberhome wasn't broken in yet and still isn't).
