Re: Monarchy M24 DAC

I was previously using an Audio Mirror D1 modified by TRL. The Audio Mirror is back at TRL for more upgrades (using a transistor stage to bypass the opamps and also some new output caps) and I always wanted to try a tube DAC, so I bought the Monarchy on a trial basis. It has been a pleasant surprise and I will be comparing to the TRL Audio Mirror and a Dodson 217 MkII D DAC I may be getting.

My transport right now is a TRL modified Alesis ML9600, but I have just bought a North Star transport and will be putting that in my system within the next couple of weeks. I have not and do not plan on using the DIP. I'm not sure what the benefit would be and why the M24 would need this to sound better. It is somewhat surprising and a bit of a curiosity for me that I may have to research it further.
