Hello!The PMD100, regarded as a very good digital filter chip, is not
quite as good sonically as the PMD200. The PMD200 had more
advanced filtering capabilities than the PMD100. I think that
both of these chips are hard to come by these days, although
you might find one with hard looking, or through purchasing
older equipment with the chip. I am sorry that HDCD and Pacific Microsonics did not go over better than it did, as their concept
and technical approach was a cut above the typical digital filter
approaches of their time. Likely the best current digital filters
are those based on digital programming instructions used in a DSP.
