I haven't heard the Marantz player but I ended up buying the Arcam after hearing it through Bryston gear at one of my local retailers. I run tube gear at home myself but the Bryston/Arcam combination sounded way better than anything else I had heard during my audition process (including Creek, Exposure, and Rega). I was actually moving out of a Marantz player and into the Arcam so while I'll repeat that I haven't heard the Marantz piece in question I think you'll be more than happy with the 73T.
