I have to second the new Cary 303/300. Along with the newest technology, it has all the "tools" to fit into any system and anyone's taste.It has two different output stages: tube and solid state. This alone is two different signatures. Plus you can tube roll to suite your taste (there are more detailed tubes, foward sounding, recessed, warmer, thiner, etc...)
It allows multiple sampling rates (or even bypass althogether) which effect the soundstage and especially treble extension.
All these variable tools that can be switched on the fly and really from recording to recording depending on taste.
Just can't see how anyone can go wrong.
