discrepancy in sound between analog and digital rig

Hi folks, I would like to what is your opinion about the following. I have a digital rig that consists of an Accuphase DP-90/DC-91 and analog rig that cosists of Acoustic Solid high mass turntable + Fidelity Research tonearm + SPU cart. Phono is Graham Slee. There is a discrepancy in sound between those two rigs. The analog set up sounds very warm and full towards the midrange and also very spacious, the digital set up sounds detailed, but also lean towards the midrange. The sound is a bit closed in and laid back (missing some liveliness). In my opinion both a good analog and good digital set up, although there are differences, should have the same basic sound characteristics. At my friend's home, the sound of his analog (Denon turntable and Empire cart) is quite similar to his digital (Sony DVD/SACD/CD player). What could be the reason for this discrepancy in sound? Could it be caused by a defective capacitor in the DAC or power supply aging? Should I sell my Accuphase gear and buy a warm sounding CDP, like Marantz, Audio Note or Naim? I don't know. I hope you have some suggestions to help me out. Thank you in advance.

Chris
