I agree Longtimequadowner as I purchased a Dell media computer and upon booting up it asks you about your media selections in regards to burning cds and what type of screen or monitor you have ect...The interesting thing is when selecting your sampling rates it offers three settings and one actually states "audiophile setting" offering some 24/ 376 khtz.? or something in that vincinity. Well when I ordered my pc I made sure they added a sata hard drive as I read in stereophile this was supposed to be a better drive for audio [john marks I believe] purposes. In operation the sound quality is far superior to my older Gateway, Ive also burned many cds utilising the sampling rates along with built in error correction and recieved many thank yous from freinds on the quality of sound. What Ive done is ordered 100 Mobile Fidelity gold discs as they pit better, no melting on edges of pits and in practice these have proven superlative in combination with my pc, I recently burned Bill Frisells Further East/ Further West cd from his website to FLAC files then converting that to mp3 then to disc and I cant tell listening through my Kora Hermes DAC that I didnt purchase this new at the store!Really a music making machine with; as stated by others, unlimited access to music files and unknown artists. While at this point I have yet to include it in my hometheatre/2 channel setting Im not sure it couldnt hold its own place theyre amoung my other components. Regards // Tim W...
