I've just sent for one of the "Odin 2" XLR cables. Prices seem to be all over the place for the same cables. They have brass(?) insets on the wooden pieces and terminations labeled: "HOLD:PLUG". Certainly worth it to try.

I'm using the Kimber 12TC knockoff with success and will try stuffing them with 1/2 inch cord in the manner of GR-Research. A cheap enough mod.

The "Odin" USB cable you write of is even more interesting as Nordost doesn't seem to make an Odin USB cable, nor any cable looking like the one in your pictures. But if it works, that's very interesting. USB cables can sound all over the place and I love trying them. I have an advantage in that in my system the USB cable doesn't use the 5V line.
