I was having after installing a new amplifier (PS Audio Stellar S300)... The system is now dead quiet. They replaced a pair of single-ended Audioquest King Cobra ICs that have served very well in every other application, but were not happy between the NAD M51 -> S300.
I've been listening daily for about two weeks, and I can tell you that the Canare/Amphenol combo needs to be broken in further. A few days after I got them, I turned on the system, and was shocked... It sounded flat, lifeless, and fatiguing.
Today, I fired up David Byrne - Look Into The Eyeball, and was shocked again... So much finesse, clarity, and authority.
So, I'll keep the WBC cables in for now, but I can tell that they have a certain signature that I have heard from other star-quad type cables in the past. A very subtle "springiness" or slight smearing that depends on the recording.
Other than that, they're an incredible bargain. I paid $35 bucks, and I'm looking at $200+ for a meaningful upgrade, probably.
Cheers,
SF
