Anyone know the relationship between Oyaide and Nicoon?

I just saw a picture that Duster posted of a Oyaide R-1 AC Outlet. http://www.audioasylum.com/audio/cables/messages/128867.html
On the outlet the name Nicoon is on it. I thought Nicoon was a chinese manufacturer? Anyone know the relationship between Oyaide and Nicoon? The reason I ask is a client of mine recently gave me two sets of 15amp IEC and AC male plugs that have both the name Oyaide and Nicoon on them. He told me his uncle that lives in Japan gave him several sets when visiting the US. I thought they were copies, because the name Nicoon was on the plug. The plugs have a black shell. Any info would be appreciated.
