Mid-range congestion

My poor step-son easily has over 100 hrs on his new Nordoest cables and they are still congested. I am really uneasy about going to solid copper wire. He has very long runs, but I pulled his speakers up close to the amp and used my AN Lexus cable to see if maybe the problem was not somewhere else. The difference was night and day. It's those bloody cables.

I think I'll try one of the litz construction cables already suggested.
