Biwire Question - Vandersteen 2ceSig

I had 4 strands of Audioquest made up for Biwire by a local shop. They took two strands and hooked up the red wires and put spades on them and did the same for the black. At the Amp part, they connected both black and then connected both red. And, told me to connect the red to the positive on my receiver and the black to the negative on my receiver. Should they have connected, on the receiver end, both reds together and both blacks together?
