Yes, that seems to be prevalent now days.May I ask if U have actually used/auditioned one of the "top shelf" cables in your system lately?
Having recently implemented the "top of the line" IC from a very well known cable manufacturer between my CD player and my preamp has certainly expanded my viewpoint on high end cables in that there has certainly been some genuine advances in cable design.
As for the marketing claims, that is just capatalism at it's finest and in an over crowded market, it is one way to catch a prospective buyers eye.
By the way, most of the other IC's in my Cable Stable sound pretty mediocre when compared to the new "Big Gun" :-)
