My current speakers (Gallo Reference 3s) don't allow for biwiring, although there's a second pair of inputs feeding the woofers' second voice coils. Here's where I'm coming from. In the late 90s I was running ProAc Response 3s that did allow biwiring, and I was using biwired Kimber 8TCs on them. I decided to experiment with Mapleshade speaker cables (Double Golden Helix) and assumed I would biwire with them. In discussing this with Mapleshade, Pierre Sprey talked me out of it, said that single-wiring + jumpers would sound better (thus cutting his own sales/profits in half, so I figured he was being honest). He was right: the single-wired Mapleshades just slayed the 8TCs. I briefly tried biwiring with my subsequent speakers, Gallo Ultimates and, again, single wiring sounded clearer and more open. Thus, my suggestion.Glad you were able to go to an open-shelf setup. Much easier to deal with equipment (and wire) changes. Dave
