Question re: star quad (microphone) to DIN plugs

Hello,
Is there a way to use a high-quality star-quad cable (which is small--I think it's microphone cable) and connect a 3-pin DIN connector at one end and connect a 5-pin at the other end? The cable has two blue leads and two white leads, and I can only guess as to how the leads would go to the connectors.
This would be used between an upgrade power supply (made in Scotland) that I bought for my XCans v3 headphone amp. The power supply has a 5-pin DIN socket and the headphoe amp has a 3-pin DIN socket. The cable supplied with the upgrade power supply was pretty good, but I want to try and adapt an umbilical I purchased from a guy on Ebay.
