a very nice interconnect for my system

Hi, I very recently purchased an interconnect cable kit, from home grown audio and am braking it in with amp , to pre-amp . I am listening to my sonyo plus series tuner, with crap from radio shack . I don't have any thing good to listen to with the nakamichi 682 zx ( a chain is only as strong as it's weakest link ) I guess . I really know very little about cable . I don't wont to spend more then the HG audio on the three ? [ cable for the Tape Deck and tuner to main ] then I need, OR is there some thing as good for less in a kit or ready made I don't know about ?
