I highly recommend that you leave the DH Labs Power Plus as it is. I've spoken to D.H. Labs' Darren Hovsepian about this issue and he is not in favor of a shield for the product. An unshielded power cord is fine to connect a PLC to an AC outlet at the wall. The UPC-200 will filter potential noise (that's what it's for), so there really is no need to add a shield to your power cord for that application. Adding a braided shield will perhaps do more sonic harm than good, most notable would likely be squashed dynamics and a less open soundstage presentation. Many folks have found that a shielded power cord is only prefered when connecting digital gear.
