I have assembled hundreds of cables using Bullet plugs and installed them in systems myself, and have never had to use anything more sophisticated than my right hand. A quarter turn to the left before insertion, a quarter turn to the right as you insert, bingo. Eichmann made this suggestion in the very early days as an RCA plugs made from polymer had never been seen before, and only if some out of spec oversized non standard RCA female was involved. I believe it is still written on the instructions that come in the box. This, and the myth that they melt when you solder the wires on are both palavers.
