Like chris said in his post go for it. Install a new NEMA 5-15P plug on the Powervar cord. From what I have read about oyaide Receptacles the contacts are rated for 20 amps.What I would advise you, if you ever sale the Powervar and cord replace the plug with a 5-20P. Protect your behind.....
