Image: Crystal Cable Reference interconnects ($1,950 1 meter pair; product shown on left side of photo) terminated with Furutech FP-126 rca's?Unless Crystal Cable uses a custom version of the FP-126 that makes it more special/higher performance (or they use an exact look-alike rca... not likely since the FP-126 looks quite unique), it goes to show just how well the connector performs (IMHO). Not bad for a $7 connector...
I have no experience of any other Furutech rca model.
Harmonic Technology seems to use the FP-162 for their lower-line Precision-Link interconnect cable. I would imagine that the FP-162 sounds pretty good for $3.80 each. I can't find a photo of it's inner view, so I don't know about it's ground piece design. Furutech's web site information indicates the FP-162's connections are soldered (it does not have a set screw option for the center pin). It's the upper-line FP-106(R) that features a set screw termination for the center pin, and so it seems also for the ground termination. A much more pricey connector than the FP-126 and FP-162, though.
The Furutech FP-126 with it's PCOCC center pin (rather than bronze or brass) is pretty nice stuff for the price (only US$28 per set of four). Too bad only one seller in North America seems to carry it:
