finding the positve and negative end on unmarked cable

Interconnects, speaker wire, power cords. Ask the Cable Guys.

I ran some very long runs of cheap cable outside my house for some outdoor speakers. When I looked closer saw neither cable is marked so I can't see which one is positive or negative. Can someone tell me how to check?
