Having modified 3 PS Audio Lab ll cables, I have some info U might be interested in.PS Audio removes enough copper strands and then solders/tins the wire to barely fit inside the opening(s) of the endcaps on the WattGate connectors they use.
What I did was to completely disassemble the Male/IEC plugs including the barrel caps and this then exposes the blades to a much bigger opening. Then solder the wires directly to the blades. Reinstall the barrel housing, tighten the cable clamp and your set.
(Proper wire dressing will be needed for each wire via heatshrink as the endcap will not be reused.) U will need at least a 40 watt iron as well.I did this because due to the shear bulk of the cables/wires, the wires kept pulling out of the wire clamps even though they had been heavily torqued down.
It is also a major increase in resolution for the Lab ll cables.
