The cable that came with the unit does look like a generic cable; though I have to say the wires inside does look of a heavier gauge than the bog standard ones. And the connectors are made by AMP.
But you're right, I just want to try to make one up with good quality wires to try to better it. I did this a while ago with a Musical Fidelity X10v3 with great success; so thought I will try it with the KRC.
Anyway, many thnals for your advise. Presume by shielded cable, you mean I should add a grounded braided screen round the outside of the bunch of 5 wires?
