I saw that review of the Delrin wand and thought it was sort of a waste of time. Here is my take on it. I bought my HW17 in 1986 and have cleaned thousands of records with it over the years. Thousands and thousands of records. About the only things that need periodic replacement are that damn wand and the brush every couple of years. No body has shot it so I can't say that it is bullet proof. And VPI is there, answers their phone, sends me stuff when needed. So a couple of years ago when the Delrin wand came out it was offered as a more durable option. I bought one. It is more durable. Nobody claimed it was going to be anything except more durable. If it lasts twice as long as the clear ones it is at least break even and more convenient. If it lasts 3 or 4 times longer, it definitely will have paid for itself. Too early to tell, but based on past experience with VPI stuff, it will turn out to be a good investment. Their turntables work pretty well too. I still have and enjoy an HW19MkIII and an HW40 which is simply excellent.
