RE: QUESTION: What Are Your Customized Moving Magnet Resistance and Capacitance Preferences

Sir, what you are discussing is DEFINATELY CONFIRMED BY MY EARS ! I was thinking, after such sites like this, the Hagerman Technology Cartridge Loading, All About Circuits Parallel Resistor Calculator, and more; "...can I push the peak out of the audible range".

Well, according to my ears, I almost did so far. My ears liked the result.

Additionally, parallel loading with a pair of y-splitters at the phono stage input -- with each having a plug terminated at both ends with a 110 KOhm Vishay Dale resistor also seemed to reduce the top-end treble 'pain'.

So, why not try both....welp......"EVERYTHING IS AWESOME !! EVERYTHING IS COOL WHEN YOU ARE PART OF A TEAM"...(yes, I went there).

I TOTALLY AGREE with the previous post: especially the part about what I did reduced the overall db of the peak rise in the treble and also pushed it into the upper-end so far it's not inaudible.

...MY EARS ARE NOT CRAZY !!

I do have a question or two:

1. If I go with a phono stage with 0 pf capacitance (Darlington Labs MM6b, to be exact); can I expect any better results?

2. If I get away from splitter plugs (all that extra weight on my RCA plugs; will I get similar results with that (Darlington Labs MM6b phono preamp) with it 38k Ohm resistance setting on it (ironically, it was tested to be a good setting for the 700 series of Audio Techinca Moving Magnet cartridges to get rid of the sharp top-end peak.....similar thing)?

Thanks,

Martin N.
